EDUCATION SYSTEM IN RUSSIA

      Russia is the largest country in the world, convering more than one per eight of the Earth's inhabited land area. Russia is also the world's ninth most populous nation with nearly 143 milion people.
Russia have its own education system. Education system in Russia assessed as one of the education system of the most comprehensive in the world. Its complete subject in each school  became a material for the students to have the knowledge and broad view in life later.
The complete course of studying in Russia is 11 years, but in Indonesia is 12 years. All levels of education school in Russia is free, primary and secondary school is a compulsory education for all Russian people. School allowed to enter the subjects and additional charge a fee of each subject

1. Pre-school education (till 6 years, its called kindergarten)
Kindergartens are education before primary education. Kindergartens unlike school, are regulated by regional and local authorities. The ministry of Education and Science regulates only a brief pre-school preparation program for the 5-6 years old children. In 2004, the government attempted to charge full cost of kindergartens to the parents: widespread public oppostion cause a reversal of policy. Currently, local authorities can legally charge the parents not mor than 20% of cost. Twins, children of college students, refugees, veterans and other protect social groups are entitled to free service. Here the children will have a much time to play.

2. Primary School
Elementary school last for 4 years – from 1st grade to 4th grade (age level 6-10). Its aim is to give a minimum base set of knowledge and abilities necessary for life and any works. The four first year at school, every level classes have one room and they are taught by a single teacher which teaching almost all subjects in the curriculum, except foreign language, music lessons and physical education. 98,5% of elementary school teachers are woman. Every day there are 4-5 hours lessons. Since class I, children have taught language and literature of Russia, mathematics, information, foreign language, general knowledge, and the Arts. In class II, students have started learning foreign language, usually English. In class IV, there are religious lesson and moral character. Those subjects are classified still new to schools in Russia, put in curriculum of 2012.

3. Basic School Education
For the 5 years, from 5th to 9th grade (age level 10-15) the students study at basic school. All day students move from class to class. The class teacher is chosen to a class – one of teachers at school, which officialy is responsible for a class, solve administrative and organizational questions. Five-year period of education, the students will learn the language (Russian, regional languages, literature and general area, foreign language, foreign language second), social science (history of Russia, general history, general knowledge, geography), mathematics (math, algebra, geometry, Informatics), natural Sciences (physics, biological, chemical), religion, art and music, craft, basic science security and safety of life, and physical education. Students must follow all of those subjects .

4. The Secondary School Education
There are two last years of studying: 10th-11th grade (aged level 15-17). Basic purpose of the high school is preparation for university. therefore, in secondary school there are specialization subject such: social science , physics-mathematics and science.

Note:
• School year begin on September 1 and ends in late may or june.
• They have a long holiday: June until Agust
• Mostly, school have 6-day working days
• Daily there are 4-8 lessons (1 lesson= 45 minutes)
• Class concist of about 25 students
• Every school have their own uniform

5. COLLEGE EDUCATION
There are 3 level of college institution in Russia
• University offers a variety of program at all levels.
• Academy put great emphasis on research usually centered around certain areas such as art, architecture or science.
• Institution is a branch of the University or college independent offers courses professional education.

University of Moskow

      Lecture process held every day by the number of subjects almost 10 on each semester, its  more heavy with the extreme weather that able to reach minus 31. in some course there is one of the terms to get the value with collect our note each meeting. Its very unique because such as back to the days of Elementary school if we are in Indonesia. Then, the exam system usually divided into two, speaking and writing exam and show our note, making extra motivation to learn.
      For international students, there is first one special years which only focus on learning Russian language. Because all courses taught using the Russian language, so we have to understand the language. And Russian language is the one of the most difficult languages in the world.
